BAKING COMPETITION BRINGS SMILES TO RONALD McDONALD HOUSE CHILDREN

Last month, I was delighted to join one of our clients–the RPM Building Solutions Group’s Global Sustainability Leadership Council—in a fun and enlightening cookie baking competition at Cuyahoga Community College’s (Tri-C’s) Hospitality Management Center (HMC) in Cleveland, Ohio.  Led by Tri-C’s Corporate College and HMC, our three teams challenged each other to make the best cookies with the most creative packaging for the children and their families at Ronald McDonald House (RMH).  RMH provides care for seriously ill or injured children while also providing a “home-away-from-home” for their parents/family at little to no cost.

Each of our teams raced against a clock to complete all competition requirements, including designing and naming our cookies.  In addition, we learned great lessons about team building, communication and the importance of giving back to children in need.  In the end, three great cookie brands were unveiled:

  • Miles of Smiles
  • Doggone Good Cookies
  • Hearts 4 U

And the winner?  Judged and selected by Chef Brandt Evans…Doggone Good Cookies!!  Congratulations to the Doggone Good Cookie Masters!  And, although I wasn’t on the winning team, we had a great time and would recommend this team building to other companies—great fun!
